Kiln Building

Over the past 20 years, between full-time university teaching, working in my studio, and raising a family, I have also squeezed in building well over 100 kilns. These kilns have been built for universities, private studios, and art centers and have included various styles of salt, soda, wood and reduction kilns. I enjoy the challenge and like making connections with  amazing people and places. I also enjoy the fact that, to a small degree, I am connected to the work produced once the kiln is complete.  Typically, the build is quick (usually a week or so), but the design, materials lists, site prep, acquisitions, and permits can be 6 months or longer.
